What are the chances of me getting into NYU, BU, MichU, and Rutgers? I am graduating CC in California and have a 3.2 GPA. I know my GPA isn’t the best, but I do a lot of work/activities outside of school. For one I own and operate a company that creates iPhone apps, I have my own set of developers and designers and have my company produce apps and make profits. I do community service at my local animal shelter and have over 100 hours (is that a good amount or should I do more?). I am also the sports editor for my schools newspaper. I have also held a steady job for 3 years till this day. I want to go in as a business major. If all of them are a reach please recomend what else i can do? I am looking to transfer in one more year so I have time to improve my GPA. Thank you for reading everyone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ll chance back

I think you have some excellent ECs. But first, what are your standardized testing scores?

I never took the SAT or ACT because I always knew I was going to a CC to save money. Most school want to see your scores if you get your AA and transfer. Should I take them?

This link should help you a bit.

Okay thanks. It pretty much says I don’t need to take them unless the target school requires, which I know Rutgers doesn’t. Thank you

A ton of views, but not many are helping! Help please!

Your extracurriculars are good, however you do need to get that GPA up. For NYU you need at least a 3.6+
Good Luck :)))

Thank you, also I’m joining a business entrepreneur club and an joining the student government as The Officer of Finance for Budget and Judiciary Committee. Will this help?

Chance back please
and you’re welcome :)))

And yes that will help. :)

More help please!

Helppppppp

You have good extra curricular activities but a lower GPA…

-It is hard to accurately chance you without your ACT/SAT
-Your class rank
-And rigor of courses

I can help with NYU my brother goes there. What that guy said about the 3.6+ I don’t think is true since my brother had a 3.1 unweighted. Your extracurriculars look good especially for business, and my brother only had like 2 clubs. However, you need to take the SAT or ACT. The range for NYU isn’t that bad my brother got a 32 and got in. Chance me back please!

@jtarps what school in NYU did your brother get into?

Thank you both for you chances!

What was your high school gpa?

I don’t remember, but it wasn’t good. Will that matter? If I have taken years of college courses why would they look into my HS grades?

@Rutgers949 He is in the College of Arts and Sciences, and I think he is also taking classes in the business school.

standardized test scores? any AP courses. You need the fundemendals like sat and gpa before your EC, they are secondary…I would say NYU is a reach (but a low reach).
show u are unique and have more to offer to the school to compensate for that low GPA

chance back!?
