Chances: Opinion is greatly appreciated

I have dreamt of attending to Penn ever since I was little. Therefore, I am planning to apply to the university for the class of 2012. But I am a bit skeptical on whether or not I might have a chance. I am not at all happy with my current grades so therefore I hope my strong SAT scores will make up for it.

A few quick questions.
*Can you please give me a feedback on to where I stand?
*Should I apply regular decision or early?
*Is a legacy consider to only intermediate family members? My uncles have attened Penn but I don’t think that matters.

Much appreciated.

I’m not that familiar with ECs in the States (since I’m international), but I say from your academics prospective alone, it looks great! (And don’t bother doing the ACT, your SAT I scores are amazing already. It’s harder to get a 36 on ACT than getting a 2400 on SAT I)

You’ll probably get in. :)

I think you can get in, but i also have a question for anyone who will reply after me. Question: The previous two reply-ees have said that he will get into Penn, or great chances. His rank is actually quite low despite his stellar SATs. Doesn’t Penn care about rank more? I heard the phrase “Penn loves valedictorians” so many times before. Obviously, a 2400 or a 2380 outweighs that bad rank to those admissions officers?

21 out of 512? That’s top 4%! Not too shabby.
