first generation college Asian in southern California; regular decision

I would loveee to go to Tufts…

If you do bring up your SAT to the scores your predicted, you have a solid chance. Applying ED II, if that interests you, would probably help you considerably. Good luck!

Agree with LolaBelle (as usual)

bump…

I havent started on my supplement essays yet… any suggestions?

should they be really creative? i’m good at that and I think that’d be fun… but then the ap lit formal english side of me is reluctant

what does bump mean anyway?

ABSOLUTELY. Go for it.

People write “bump” to bump the post back up to the top if no one’s written back.

Mcrk, make your essays like the best page of what your autobigraphy would be. Describe a scene or situation that you experienced that demonstrates something positive/interesting/admirable about yourself. Don’t brag though. Don’t talk about how wonderful you are, describe a scene where you did something wonderful, or experienced something wonderful. It doesn’t have to be something monumental (one example on the Tufts web site is about a guy getting his haircut for the 1st time in several years). Get inside the scene, show feelings, settings, characters, dialog; give the reader a feeling for who you are. My 2 cents.

thanks for the help guys!

Lolabelle, does solid chance mean 70%? haha.

Certainly. Write great essays!

aww my sat score turned out to be 2020 :{

anyone else?

think i should try for a great optional essay? i haven’t started yet… b/c i want to make sure my requried essays are good first…

you should definitely do the optional essay! shows that you care that much more about the school, haha.

of course, this is coming from a girl who wrote her optional essay in about an hour on coffee at about 2AM in the morning and submitted it right after only to realize what she’d done after she woke up…

needless to say my essay is a little on the eccentric side, lol
