Chances please!!! (HPME or Biomed)

Thank you for taking the time to read my thread. I might apply to HPME (although I know my chances to that would be low) or try Biomedical Engineering. I am also considering Financial Economics at Kellogg. So I haven’t really decided yet, but here I go.

Here are some of my stats:

There might be other things I can’t remember right now.

My recommendations should be excellent and he essays should be pretty good too.

I will apply RD.

Thank you very much for the help.

I mean, obviously your stats are amazing, I would say you are as close to a shoo-in as it gets to the engineering program. I really have limited experience with HPME other than that i know it’s very competitive, someone who has experience might be able to give you more information.

PS how is it possible that you’re salutatorian with a 4.0 UW 5.0W? does your grading scale go above 5.0?

You have a pretty good shot at NU. I can’t really say anything about HPME because its really competitive and unpredictable at times. You have to be 100% sure that you want to be a doctor. Why do you want to do the Financial Economics certificate if you want to be a doctor?

^^money. money. and more money.

elsifdl - I’m the salutatorian because the person ahead of me leads by less than .05 :(. The scale is: A worth 4 points, and then each honors/AP class adds .2 to the the GPA for the semester taking that class. So I had 4 honors classes as a freshman and sophomore and 5 honors and 2 AP as a junior. After three years the W GPA came out as 5.0

eternity1115 - I’m debating between doctor and finance/economics because I 'm not sure if I will not be able to pay for the 7 or 8 years of school it takes to become a doctor (and I would not like to leave school with 100K or more in debt).

Thank you for the responses so far.
