<p>Hey guys(: I’m a rising senior with an interest in the following colleges for either English / Creative Writing or neuroscience (or cognitive science haha).</p>

<p>I know most of them are reaches, but if any of you could chance me for any of these colleges, that’d be really great(: </p>

<p>SAT reasoning: 2100 [610 critical reading (yikes!), 750 math, 740 writing]
Haven’t taken SAT subject tests or ACT yet, but I’ll probably do so in the fall. Also, not sure if this counts for anything, but my PSAT scores were really good so I qualified for National Merit Scholarship and sent my score to Middlebury and Williams.</p>

<p>With a 7% acceptance rate, I don’t think anyone is “definitely” getting into Stanford…</p>

<p>That being said, you have some solid stats (but get that SAT score up). I’d say that you have pretty good chances (45%) at most of the LACs, with Stanford being a crapshoot like it is for everyone.</p>

<p>Also, you say you want to major in neuroscience, but I don’t see any ECs pointing in that direction…</p>

<p>For your LACs, if you get the CR score up then you’ll get into most of them.
You ECs are passable but there is nothing that really puts you in context of the nation. There is no compelling reason to select you over anyone else with a similar test score and similar ECs. You don’t really seem to have that much of a passion for anything. And your legacy won’t really help you b/c Stanford wants to get their name out more which is more important than pleasing alumni parents (unless of course your parents bought you a building on campus or something of that sort). Stanford is definitely a reach.
That being said, you only apply to undergrad schools once in a lifetime, so you might as well take your shot. Just make sure that you have at least 2 or 3 safety schools where you are 100% sure you can get in and you would love to go there just incase nothing else turns out.
