You can also do a special arts submission (info here: [William & Mary - Arts Submissions](http://www.wm.edu/admission/undergraduateadmission/admissionprocess/artssubmissions/index.php)), which I strongly recommend if you have the time to get it together before the deadline. The admissions dept. will forward your submission to a member of the music department, who will evaluate you relative to other student musicians at W & M and then send the eval back to admissions. If you’ve recorded any music, you can put a submission together rather quickly - it doesn’t have to be a flashy presentation.

On the five bases: My d, who is OOS, was accepted with no physics at all and only 4 years of Latin. She took honors bio, then honors chem, then AP Chem, and finished with AP Bio. Our hs has serious issues with its physics teachers, and my d was genuinely more attracted to AP Chem and Bio, so she decided to pursue the subjects of interest to her. I think it’s helpful to know that the adcoms are looking for those bases to be covered, but it’s not a hard and fast rule.
