Chances Please?

<p>Do I have a chance of getting into the Peabody College for HOD Major? Yes, I know, another chances thread
I’m a junior and my current unweighted gpa = 3.58 weighted=3.9 (should go up)
SAT: Taking it in March
My current class rank is 29/138</p>

<p>I’m in The Academy of International Studies at my school (and on Academy of Int’l Studies Board) and I’m taking a lot of Honors Global Seminars (like Global cultures, minority studies, global issues, foreign film) along with AP French Language and AP Psychology (and next year I’m planning to take AP Comparitive Government, AP Human Geography,AP Art History, and taking French class at UNC) </p>

<p><strong>EC’s</strong> + I have the most service learning hours in my grade
co-president of the Amnesty International Club
co-president of the Movie Club
last year was in the Third World Relief Club
In 10th grade I was the JV Volleybal Captain
I have over 370 service learning hours by:
volunteering at local elementary school every summer (4 years 2 weeks each summer)
voluneering at local library
CIT for 3 weeks at a YMCA Camp
volunteer counselor at an Art Camp
volunteering at local walks
I’ve been a childrens soccer coach for 3 years
I’m a tutor for students at my school
freshman mentor
I stay afterschool to fundraise for the Amnesty Club-which gets me more service hours</p>

<p>i’ve been to summer camps like NC State Design camp (2 summers), Savannah College of Art and Design Summer Camp (1 summer), and Minnesota College of Art and Design Summer Camp (1 summer)</p>

<p>Your ECs are heavily dedicated to service, which is really cool.</p>

<p>Just get your GPA up and take SAT/ACT.</p>

<p>thanks Hilsa! Even though I’m not exactly doing an “education/teaching” major, do you think all of those ECs based on helping children in school and stuff are still going to look good? I thought they would partly because the Peabody College with lots of the education majors. I also hope the design college camps with show them that I’m creative and such (I hope to go on the HOD track with marketing in it) </p>

<p>I hope my GPA isn’t too low for Vanderbilt, I really hope to improve my uw to above a 3.6</p>

<p>Hopefully your increase in GPA will increase your class rank.</p>

<p>Because right now you’re in the 21st percentile, which means top 30% on your secondary school report. That’s not good.</p>
