Asian female from single parent household first 2 go to college if that helps…oldest child so i work to help support family
interested in politics…future career goal would be to work for WHO or UN
thanks guys…constructive criticism is welcomed
p.s. did any one get in without being a legacy or recruited athlete but with normal stats…does that happen?

you sound like a nice girl but ur gunna need to bring up ur SAT’s by about 300 points to be competive. id say to still apply tho, u never no if u dont at least try.

thanks…i’ll work on the sat…and the subject tests…anything else guys?

The first gen college stuff will help out a lot. Also, make sure to really explain about the typhoid fever thing and the fact that you work to help support your family, either for an explanation of grades, or to show character (likely both).

Anyways, bring up your test scores, and if you can, get that GPA up to be as competitive as possible.

Best of luck!

It’s a massive reach. The first generation tip mostly helps URMs. There are many Asian first gen candidates with competitive stats…

yeah i know…unfortunetly i cant do nothing bout it but get my GPA up, i still have a little hope lol …do u guys know any way i can make myself stand out? i will be going on a rotary youth leadership conference for a week in june
