UW GPA: 4.0
Rank: 2/280
Courseload: Most rigorous at school. will finish with 12 APs

ACT: 30 (i think i can bring it up to at least 31-32)

ECs: XC, Spring Track, VP of BPA, VP of MUN, NHS, Tutored Cousins for 100+ hours. Summer College

Work: I have worked year round all four years of high school at my restaurant for 4 Hours/ day during school year and 6 Hours/day during summer.

I don’t know about your chances… but if you are applying ED it would be stupid to not apply for Financial aid at all. Duke is need blind as you may already know, therefore… applying for fin aid can only help… Duke met 100% of demonstrated need last year, so even if you only need a thousand dollars, 1000$ is better than nothing… so if there is .00001% chance at getting any financial aid, I would apply for it… it cant hurt you at all…

ummm im not “rich” but we have enough saved for my college tuition and stuff. i dont get paid for work cuz im just trying to help them save money for my college.

i know that there is need-blind and stuff but if it is all need blind, why do the same amount of students who need aid get accepted each year?(read this somewhere, may be false, plz help verify).

I would say bring up your ACT… a 30 is at the lower end of their 25-75% range… so a 31 or a 32 would give you a better shot at getting in… i believe their range is 29-33(?)
