^^^ Does this person live in the “Northwest” (i.e. Oregon, Washington State, Northern California) or does this person live in the Chicago Suburbs…sorry but its kind of confusing when you say you live in Northwestern. I am also sure this persons class rank is not as bad as mine.

chicago suburbs lets say
not a real person i just want to know if your chances increase if you live close? or in the same state?

i think you’d be okay. ranking could hurt but w/e you’ve done pretty well on stanardized tests. transcript overall may be more of an issue; it does account for four entire years instead of a few saturday mornings of MC tests…

i’ve applied RD as well and i’m scared too
i have a better ranking but lesser scores: top 5% with a 3.8 UW, but 2090 (super score)

Its generally harder the closer you live to the school. Most private schools won’t geographic diversity, so the farther you live the better.

The only schools that it helps if you live nearby or in the same state are public universities.
