*****I have been rejected from Notre Dame Early Action and Rice Early Decision…any hope at all for NU???

^ EA is not binding, ED is binding, for EA even if you get in, you can still apply to regular decisions schools…Thats what my counselor told me to do…

I was in a similar class rank situation. But then, my HS was one of the best in the nation, with the most competitive (by number of national merit) in school history. Plus, class rank honestly means almost nothing, and we don’t officially rank.

I wouldn’t worry about your rank. I would worry about the fact that you got rejected from early admission to two schools that are less selective than NU.

I hope you applied to some safeties you like. :/

I have been accepted by my saftey, but don’t really want to go there =(. It sucks how we do rank, because in Texas if you are in the top 10 percent, you have automatic admissions to any state school, so even though my school is one of the top in Texas, we still have to rank…

I am happy, I just got waitlisted at WashU woot, woot…I serouisly thought I was going to get rejected at WashU. I know they waitlist everyone, but still, this gives me a little hope for after 1 early decision rejection, and 1 early action rejection…

You’re definitely qualified but your rank will be your only detriment. I think a lot of it will depend on your counselor recc to be honest and what she has to say about the whole situation. The unfortunate part is however, that NU may not care. It all becomes a numbers game at some point. Best of luck!

You won’t end up at your state school most likely, but whether you end up at NU is probably a 40-45% chance. Unfortunately, you’ve got to take into account the applicant pool you’re competing against which this year is extremely competitive.

I think you have a fair/good chance because your US History SAT II is pretty high and your SAT I is on par (or maybe slightly higher than the average). Your weighted and unweighted GPAs are strong as well. I think those two components will even out your rank, which is on the mediocre side. My case is a bit opposite of yours. My weighted rank is in the top 5%, but it’s only a 4.28. Good luck. =] I hope we both get in.

P.S. I think it really depends how you wrote your essay. I know a few people who used the most common topics yet warped their essays in a unique manner. :]
