Chances? Relatively Top Schools

Yoo. Im finishing up 11th grade now, about to head into my senior year and starting the college search. I’m graduating from a top public high school that won a blue ribbon award this past year and had the teacher of the state. Here is some information that I hope can help you help me:

Academics:

GPA on School 6.0 scale: 5.6
Unweighted GPA: 3.72 (would be higher if sophomore year GPA which was 3.56 was disregarded as I had numerous health complications)
SAT Score: 2280
SAT 2 Math 2 : 770
SAT 2 US History : 800
SAT 2 Physics : 770

Extracurriculars:
3 Years Varsity Tennis - 1 Year Tennis Captain
2 Years Varsity Cross Country (4 Years Total)
3 Years Mock Trial - 1 Year Mock Trial Captain
Student Advisory Committee
President of Non-Profit Composting Organization
Lots of Volunteer Hours
Peer Facilitator at Teen Speak Out

Schools I’m Interested In:

Brown University (Average Acceptance GPA/SAT from my school –> 5.74 / 2273 )

Cornell University 5.52 / 2216

Dartmouth College 5.66 / 2244

Johns Hopkins 5.47 / 2182

Washington University in St. Louis 5.39 / 2123

Northwestern University 5.59 / 2225

UPENN 5.70 2255

My top choices are definitely Brown and Dartmouth but those seem kinda reachy to me right now. I just kinda wanna know where I stand before I start the whole application process. Obviously I dont expect anyone to answer to all these schools, but a general idea would be fantastic! Thanks!

You might have answered you own question, you have the information there, at this point it’s really up to you to decide where you fit best. But, I do think you might have a chance at those schools.

Uhh, first off make sure you explain the health complications that hindered your soph. year so adcoms will understand. Anyways, assuming that they have the right context when looking at the app, you should be in fair academic standing. ECs aren’t standout, but not anything that would keep you out of the race. If you love Dartmouth, EDing does give a boost I am aware unlike Brown so that’s one thing to consider. You have a decent list of schools that are within reach so good luck to you.

Does it mean anything that in two of my years on the team, we went to the state finals once and the state semifinals again the next year?

Also, the main reason I’m a bit worried is because my unweighted GPA is a bit lower than the other applicants to the schools, so I’m worried being a student at a very competitive public school might work against me.
