chances SAT okay?

my SAT is 1910
740 M
530 R
640 W

ACT 27: 34 math 22 read 25 english 25 science
ACT 27: 32 math 25 read 25 english 26 science

I have a 670 on chemistry and am taking math 2 in october.

based on test scores are these okay for Rice to consider me…(basically is the 530 a killer or no?)

I don’t think those scores will automatically kill your chances, but I would retake the SAT and get your reading score up. Buy some SAT Critical Reading workbooks (i.e. Kaplan, Sparknotes, etc.); they are very helpful in boosting up CR scores.

I don’t know if you should even submit your ACT… that is below the 30-34 range at Rice.

Good luck!

yeah thats prob a good idea not to send ACT…I really don’t think i could raise the reading high enough to contend (maybe a 600 at most) so it wont matter…

thanks though dude

look, just try. we dont know your stats… i mean, if you were trapped in a city during a war, had to walk a 1000 miles on foot to get away and are an olympic javelin thrower then i think your SAT’s are much less impoirtant

mainly, we dont know for sure. apply.

All i can say is, the 530 is a bad score by rice stnadards. try again and apply. it cant hurt

I agree with Antarius. It definitely won’t hurt to apply… if you want to go to Rice, apply. Just make sure you rock out those essay prompts. However, even if you can get your CR up to a 600, that will still be better than sticking with a 530.

Best of luck!

sounds good will do
