Chances so far, im stupid.

lol this may seem SO stupid to u but, i wanna try it anyway. I m going in 10th grade. LOL I KNOW RIGHT, URE PROBLY THINKING, OMG THIS KID NEEDS TO GET OFF THIS SITE AND GO PLAY OUTSIDE OR SOMETHING. Well, in 9th grade, i had following scores:

Spanish - 86
Biology - 90
Algebra - 87
English - 87
Art Hist - 87
Gym - 95
Fund of Science - 90
World Hist - 88
Community Service - 90 (45 hours)

I was a part of the School Newspaper for a while, then i quit that and joined a recycling program and have become leader for the next year (10th grade)

I did many events like aids walk, and helped out at some marathons.

Weighted GPA is 3.88 (i know dam i suck)

I go to the Top school in Philadelphia.( WOOT Central High)

I plan to pull up my grades, do double the community service, and am taking AP chemistry and English Honors in 10th.

Do u guys think i m doing fine?
Do i have any chance of getting into Wharton with my 9th grade scores. =.=
Thanx for the comments if i get any =O.

OMG THIS KID NEEDS TO GET OFF THIS SITE AND GO PLAY OUTSIDE OR SOMETHING.

Seriously.

95 in Gym. I, for one, am impressed!

lol is that sarcasm? r u saying that gym is ez and =O he got a 95, great job, syke. Lol, or are u serious.

uhm there is no way anyone can accurately chance you froshie. go outside and play.

you’re already quitting ECs? and you can’t even handle 2 ECs?

chances are, your college choice will chance
and, unless your grades go up significantly, you don’t really have much of a chance

do more ECs. start now.

and no one cares about community service HOURS. they care about how long you do the community service (2 weeks or 4 years?)

okay I’m done

seriously though, this is ridic

uhm…and if you don’t recognize that that’s sarcasm

I feel bad for you.

jeez calm down, u sound like a wharton reject. I quit the school newspaper because it was on the same day as the recycling program and i am far more interested in that. I plan to take on debate club and chess team next year. Thats all for next year. So i think i am on the right track, i m pretty sure my grades will go up incredulously. But, tell me this, do college look at weighted or unweighted gpa? Thanks for the comments, and take it ez lol.

YOU take it easy lol…you just finished freshman year. there are so many colleges that don’t even look at freshman year.

OMG THIS KID NEEDS TO GET OFF THIS SITE AND GO PLAY OUTSIDE OR SOMETHING.

omg…

With out at least PSAT scores no one can tell you. There are tons of kids with high GPAs that bomb tests. 10th grade is not too early at all to be thinking about specific colleges. Rich kids hire private counselors that start befor high school.

oh wow.

10 char

sushant, based on your record so far, your chance of getting into Penn is not very promising. There is, however, plenty of time to right the ship. Study hard, practice for standardized tests, go for leadership roles in EC, and good luck.

ok guys, heres the base line, i realized that i need to work harder at the *end * of 9th grade. Meaning, i didnt really try in 9th. So i am willing to pull up my grades. I have the leadership positionin 1 club. I ll try to do more. Thanks for the commments. I hope i do well. I had a pretty high score in the PSAT compared to other kids. So i should be fine. I think, i just wanted your opinions since u guys are obviously far more experienced than me.

honestly, forget about this forum for now. forget that it ever existed. come back in the summer before senior year when you’re choosing colleges/applying. right now, just work hard in school, get really good grades, start developing meaningful EC’s and try to steer yourself in the direction of obtaining leadership positions/awards for your junior/senior year within those EC’s.

Be black. Or have your dad be someone important in Philadelphia. Or work for Penn. Or be black.

there’s no way of accurately predicting anything right now honestly

your grades can go up, they can go down. your ECs can turn out to be amazing, or crap. ditto with your SATs. you never know. just try hard rest of HS and see what happens

LOL, im pretty dark, i have a ood shot at being black lol. Anyways, i have a leadership position in one club, i m trying to create a new club thus making me leader by default. I also do community service all through out the summer at HUP ( hospital of Upenn). I m probly gona get an internship at some place in 11th grade. But thats all. Yeah, i ll pull up the grades and stuff. Thanks

lol wat happened to the 5% in gym? did you trip while running or something? heheheh

lol no dude, i didnt trip, i was on top of my shoes being tied, but my teacher doesnt give anything higher than a 95. If he had, i woulda had a 104 in Physical Education. Which includes health as well but thats irrelavant.

hey im a freshmen too…and want to go to wharton…i hate being judged as too young…hey the earlier you prepare the better your chance of getting in
