Chances - Southern Schools

I’m a student in New Mexico, and I’m worried about my chances, seeing as all my schools I’d like to go to are Southern schools. I know this is early (I’m a junior), but we’re planning visits and my parents are requesting I narrow my schools to visit now into ones I like the most and have a chance at. (They’re being pushy and somewhat annoying). I go to a small private prep school who sends basically nobody down south - my college counselor said something like 3 students in the past 4-5 years.

Stats:
GPA: 3.7 UW
Honor Roll, 3 years
ACT: 29 (1st time around)
– CR - 36, Math - 23, English - 28, Science - 29

Classes this year are:
American Lit
US History
Spanish 4
Government
Pre-Calc

ECs:
Competitive equestrian
Top 20 in the nation in 2008
7th in the nation in 2006
State Champion (2005, 2006, 2008)
Secretary of a national youth equestrian organization this past year, running for president for 2009.
etc. I have pages of equestrian awards/stuff, but it’s meaningless unless it’s a horse ‘thing’
JV Girls Golf (2 years)
Junior Civitan (3 years, including holding a regional position)
Key Club (2 years, officer in school club)
Spanish Honor Society
4-H Club Member (9+ years)
Student Government Class Rep. (2008-2009)

Schools are:
Auburn
Ole Miss
USC (S Carolina)
SMU
Washington & Lee
UVA
UGA

I’d really like to ride NCAA in college, not interested in IHSA, but again, I’m worried, worried, worried about chances there. I’ve never won a World Championship, and everywhere I look, it’s like everyone has.

Thanks so much!

I’d say…

In at: Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina, SMU

Maybe: Washington & Lee

Probably not: UVA

You’d probably be able to get into a few of these school’s honors programs as well.

Edit: If you like these schools, you should definitely check out Clemson University in South Carolina. You have a good shot at getting in there and it’s a beautiful school.
