Hello! I am a junior in Maryland. I am hoping to get into Boston University or UCSD. I am an Asian female from an extremely competitive public school. My safety is University of Maryland.
With my stats, what are my chances?
Unweighted GPA: 3.45
Weighted GPA: 4.36
NEW SAT: 1460, but I think I can raise it to a 1500 this August.

Your stats are solid, but your UW GPA may be too low for UCSD and possibly Boston. Your ECs are great for either of those schools–
All in all, your GPA is your weakness. Other than that, you’re great. Don’t let your GPA deter you from applying to either of those, though! I’m not convinced that it’s a deal breaker. You may want to lean towards safe options on your list of colleges just because of your GPA.
I agree with the above poster, your stats are all solid except for your unweighted GPA. Do you have an upward trend in grades? That could help. I would definitely retake the SAT and maybe even try the ACT!
OOS for UCs is going to be expensive as well. Also only AP/IB classes for OOS counts for the weighted honors points. What AP classes have you taken?
I have taken AP World History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Biology, AP Calc AB, AP Government and Politics.
