Not to be harsh or anything, but from the looks of your posts on these boards, it would be easy for someone to assume you are not being sincere. In the future, just be sure to take some time to proofread your posts before submitting them. Otherwise, people on these boards might not take you seriously!

With that said…

The 50% median SAT scores for accepted students last year was 1240-1430 (Writing scores are not considered).

Your GPA is a bit on the low end, but since you are only a sophomore, you have time to raise it. What kinds of courses are you currently taking?

Debate is always a great extracurricular to get involved with…if you enjoy it, stick with it!

There are so many other schools you could consider. I won’t even attempt a preliminary list here. When you have some free time, I suggest you sit down with a reputable college guidebook (Barron’s, Princeton Review, etc.) and search for potential schools by GPA and SAT just to get an idea of what’s out there.

My biggest piece of advice to you: don’t go crazy over college admissions just yet. It’s perfectly fine to start researching some options, but IMHO it’s a bit too early for you to be thinking of your “chances” at certain schools. Enjoy your high school years while they last!

All the best,

Just raise GPA, take the toughest courseload. Get a 2000+ on SAT if possible. Being a sophomore you should be looking at many options as Justin said. Don’t worry about college too much now, I assure you you’ll be very busy! (just like me and so many others) when the time comes around for applications!

hey haruki why aren’t u online these days??

I’m really sorry dude…I haven’t been on MSN for weeks even a month…too busy. I tried to look at your essays but didn’t want to have a half-finished statement. I’ll try to get on around the time of decisions.
