Chances to get into a decent school?

I recently finished junior year and my grades were horrible. I got four C’s out of five academic classes. I got a 70 in Pre-Calc, and 77-78 in English, US-History, and Spanish. My weighted GPA was previously a 3.62, but went up to a 3.66. Unweighted will stay around a 3.2.

My composite ACT is 28, with a 33 in English and 31 in Math.

My transcript is also not very good. I don’t have much community service on it, but I am getting more hours this summer. I also have a job and am taking two Java courses this summer.

I am worried that colleges will see those C’s and won’t accept me. I realize that I messed up big junior year, but I just want to know what types of schools I could go to for a computer science degree.

Thanks in advance.

Your ACT may be enough to make up for your grades junior year. Also, writing a really good essay with your application could definitely boost your chances (especially since you have such a high English score). With your ACT scores, I’d say you have a pretty good shot at getting into some good state/public schools. Rack up some volunteer hours this summer and try to relax a little bit. Colleges look at the whole picture not just one specific demographic.
Chance back please?

I started this account in March, but recently started using the website. What does “chance back” mean?

Thanks for your reply, though.

Chance back means that the poster is asking you to assess his/her chances at whatever schools are listed. This is a pretty useless endeavor as no one other than admissions officers would be able to address this.
