Like for everyone who applies to Princeton – very low. And since you’re an international student from an over-represented country – even lower still. PS Many Princeton applicants have 800’s – or near 800’s – on their SATs.
Ohh…Then @katliamom can you please recommend me some Universities in which I can try…
The most important issue is: can you pay between $50,000 and $60,000 per year? If so, there are many, many schools that would love to have you.
If you can’t pay that, then how much CAN you pay (each year for at least 4 years?)
And I’m not asking this to be nosy but students’ finances are key when coming up with a list of schools and creating an application “strategy.” Generally, the more financial aid you need, the tougher it will be to get in anywhere. With your stats, many schools will give you some financial aid (as in, $5,000-$15,000 per year) but you would have to be responsible for the rest.
Despite what is being said here, I’d like to direct the OP to this post by Chris Peterson of MIT. He said,
There is no numerical formula that can get you into any of the best colleges in the United States. Whether you scored a 36 or a 30 on your ACT, you still have a chance to get in. Others might argue with me, but they cannot argue with the admissions’ office themselves.
SAT/ACT scores alone won’t get you in a top university, especially if coming from a highly represented country.
Since the OP did not give any information about himself/herself, the scores are the only thing to go on.
Plus, the numbers of Indians accepted to MIT, H, Y, P, S, etc., is very small since the OVERALL percentage of international students at the elite schools is about 10%.
Of course the OP has A chance. I never said he/she didn’t. But clearly that chance is very small.
In addition, the acceptance rate for international students at this level of university is roughly half the overall average. So while you might have a chance, statistically, it’s a very, very small one.
And many applicants rejected by Princeton have those stats as well.
I can pay approx 10000-15000USD @katliamom
That means that for most schools, you will need significant financial aid. Check out the international students subforum for lists of schools that have aid for internationals… and good luck!
