Chances with no ECs?

I have a GPA of about 3.8/3.9 and I’m confident I’ll manage to score above 2350 on the SAT I and above 780 on the SAT IIs, judging by all the pratice tests and such i’ve taken so far.

However, I have absolutely no ECs.Absolutely nothing. Neither have I taken any AP or Honor classes, whatever they are, probably becuase they don’t exist over here.

Do I have any chance at all, to get accepted into any of the Ivy League colleges?

On a different subject - How do you prove, or how do colleges actually check if you’ve really got a certain EC activity? Like, how are they gonna prove you haven’t worked abroad, if you say you did, etc.

don’t lie

What grade are you in? If you’re not in junior year, you could do some small ECs, like a cool camp or some volunteer work, though most colleges see through that. Most colleges don’t really value ECs that much, though Ivy Leagues schools weigh it more.

I’m currently at the end of my 11th grade, meaning I’ll have submitted most of my applications before the beginning of the 12th one I guess, in September.

Oh and, ofcourse I won’t lie. But I’m just curious how information like ECs can possibly be checked or confirmed, especially for international students.

Don’t write something you didn’t do, you may think that they won’t be able to prove it—but you never know. That is not a smart thing to do.

ECs are very important, and if you have nothing so far—then yes you have no chance at the Ivies, or most other top colles for that matter. ECs shows that you were a well-rounded student who got involved in the community and at school. I would suggest that you do something this summer and next fall before you subit your application. Whether it be a small club or a small volunteer position, have SOMETHING to write on that application. But yea…I doubt you will get into the Ivies, sorry.

Not a great chance at the Ivies, methinks.

Your numbers are awesome, though. excellencies :D

I’m curious too… are there documents?
