Chances with PSEOP?

Hello all! I’m looking for some advice, care to put in your two cents?

Here’s my story:

I live in Ohio and attend(ed) a public high school. I am a participant in the Post-Secondary Enrollment Option Program (PSEOP).

I took courses at the local community college full time for my junior year, and will again for my senior year. (Hopefully I’ll have an Associate of Art degree to show for it.) It’s not a prestigious school, but I am a member of their brand new honors program. I’m very involved with the college and am an officer in the international honors society for two year colleges.

Friends, family, and most strangers are convinced I am miles ahead in this admissions game. I am not quite that confident. I wonder if my (relatively) unique circumstances will be unappealing to colleges.

So what do you think? Will not having any AP classes or any other HS perks put me at a disadvantage in applying to competitive private schools? Or will I be rewarded for seizing a good opportunity and proving I can be successful in an independent college environment? Do you know any specific colleges who respond well to PSEOP students?

Thanks!

As long as you meet their basic requirements, I don’t think anything will disqualify you from the admissions process.

I know somebody who got into Brown with no AP classes when their school offered 15 or so.
