Yes I know I keep posting about ELC, sorry.
My new Question:
My dream school always has and is Berkeley, but I’ve had ADD all my life and was diagnosed very late (summer before 10th grade) so I was never able to take weighted courses until 11th grade because taking regular courses was already challenging enough. Point is, my UC GPA is 4.29 (all weighted courses in 11th grade) and I doubt I’ll get ELC since my school has always had the ELC benchmark around 4.35. Will not having ELC really hurt my chances at this school?
With your GPA, you should be ELC via the Statewide Path if you think you will not be by the local HS path.
According to UCB’s common dataset, 98% of enrolled students were in the top 10% of their class.
Coming from a competitive HS will be taken into consideration during your application review and at this point there is nothing you can do about it. Present the best application possible and hope for the best.
Have you looked at this site to see the historical percentage of admits for your school? https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/admissions-source-school
This will be possibly the best indication of your chances, since admit rates usually do not vary much from year to year for a given school, especially if there are say more than 50 applicants.
Yes I have looked into this. My school generally gets around 30 admits a year to Berkeley with around 150 applicants. Capped gpa average 4.21 average admit from my school, but with a uncapped average admit of 4.41
