chance me for princeton? I copied my resume (from my rice chance thread xD), and edited some personal info, might have some extraneous info…sorry about that

Sounds good. Have you thought about your essays? You could write about the chinese hospital experience.
What other schools are you interested in?

yea, i’m probably going to write about it (unless i find something really clever and interesting to write about), it was a sweet experience

other schools: rice, washu, princeton is the only ivy i’m interested in (just because some friends got in)

your chances aren’t looking so good. sorry bro. to be honest, your SAT scores aren’t anywhere near high enough–princeton accepts more than 80% of their applicants who have perfect 2400s. without that, i can’t say that you have a good chance of getting in.

also, they’re gonna see your b+ and immediately think badly of you. any grade under an a or a+ will likely automatically disqualify you. i suggest you officially drop the grade and retake the class in summer school or at a college.

i don’t see any true leadership on your part. honestly, princeton does not care about you being president of any club, even if you founded it. however, they may consider you if you send in a $30 million “charitable contribution.”

have you considered applying to ohio state? it looks like you really like it, based on your internships, etc., and i think you might have a relatively good chance of getting in.

good luck. don’t stress out. this process of applying shouldn’t take more than 7 months.

EDIT: @soccerstar81512 Just realized you were a ■■■■■ when I saw your other posts. So now I get why you acted like a huge di(k here.

To the OP, your stats are very good. That being said, the Ivys, and Princeton especially, are extremely difficult to get into. But you certainly have a chance, so go ahead and apply! Good luck!

I think he was sarcastic

Your chances can be better and your chances can be worse. But, Princeton admissions remains a CRAPSHOOT. You do everything you can to set yourself up for success in the admissions Derby. The stars are aligned properly. Your Karma is top flight. But, with so many kids applying and with the admissions’ office’s unpredictability, you might as well be throwing a pair of dice.

Take nothing for granted. Apply, do the best you can do on your essays, get the best recommendations, and then wait to see what number you roll. If you think it is any more scientific than that, you are misguided.

mm, yea i’ve heard ivies admissions is like pure luck (at a certain point)
guess i’ll just keep my fingers crossed

one other question (not sure if i should make another thread): do ivy acceptances ever worry about falling to the bottom half in college? I mean, someone has to do bad, someone has to get the Cs, Ds etc. I know i’m not the smartest guy in the world, so this worries me. Of course, some people will say that people that belong in ivies won’t worry about that (because they love knowledge for what it is, and people that are grade-obsessed shouldn’t be at ivies) but i don’t want to have a miserable college experience because i have to worry about my grades 24/7 (hence why i’ve been looking more at 2nd tier rice, washu and not so much the ivies + stanford)

Most students accepted to an Ivy expect that they will do well at their selected school. Many of the other Ivies have followed the national trend of grade inflation so almost nobody receives a bad grade.

I remember reading about a questionnaire filled out by Harvard alums. 80% reported that they graduated in the top half of their class. Just as fishermen always catch big fish it seems that alums recall doing very well in school.

Most Princeton students enjoy their educational opportunities and do not worry about grades. Princeton has a four year graduation rate of 95%. Most students are excited to be at Princeton.

Question: Are your friends at Princeton grade obsessed and miserable?
