<p>Are my extracurriculars/volunteer work good enough to compete with other top students applying to highly selective schools such as NYU? Oh, and I'm curious: is a 3.6 weighted too low?

<p>During the spring, I travel to poverty-ridden areas of Haiti and dedicate my time and services to underprivileged families by building homes, wells, and volunteering at a local hospital.</p>

<p>I would say despite your low gpa you have a great shot at NYU since you have a very unique profile! Which NYU school are you applying to? Chances vary ;P</p>
