Chances

While I have taken my SAT, I am not including it in the thread, because I would like to be chances based on E.C.'s and school situation. Assume it falls near the average range.

4.0 UW highschool GPA
4.15 W (School only offers 1 AP/a few honors. Have taken all)
Ranked 2/19 (Explain in my supplemental info how I have taken hardest courses, received perfect grades, and am still relegated to salutatorian. Long explanation)
4 college classes currently on transcript- 4.0 community college gpa.

E.C.

Varsity soccer captain
Varsity soccer 3 years
JV basketball starter 2 years
School High court (can overrule teacher demerits for students)
School Counselor (1 of 3 in high school who mediate younger students disputes with one another)
NHS
Key Club treasurer
Superior in speech regional competition
Intramurals sports captain
Few hundred hours of Teachers Aide community service

Wrote two common app essays on my experience with computers and starting online business (personal essay) and my extracurricular essay was about helping elementary students during a school chapel.

Counselor’s recommendation is outstanding, teachers recs are average.
Slightly above average supplemental essays probably.

Let me know my chances! Thanks!

You have a great chance! The online business thing sounds amazing and your essays sound unique. Your GPA is stellar 2, and a 2nd place rank is still great especially since you’ve taken all the rigorous courses available to you. I’d say in. Good luck :)

Help me too? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1260515-chance-senior-georgetown.html

Good for you not to include your SATs. I think people base their chance threads way too much on them. Regardless, I think your Ecs are very good. I had very similar ECs with average sat scores (2220) and got deferred early, so I’m sure you have a chance as well

I’m curious as to how much my incredibly weak high school will hurt me.
Our school has been around for decades and never even sent a student to a TOP 50 school! It is embarrassing. I don’t know if I should hide this from my application or cite it… It’s kind of a wild card.

You don’t even have a place to “cite” that information. Your counselors are the ones who send all the information regarding your school’s difficulty to colleges, not you.

I’m also curious about your username…Is it a play off of nihilism?
