Outstanding Recs. My guidance counselor knows me really well, hes the faculty sponsor for the club that i’m the president of.

Another rec i’m getting is from my math teacher that i came up with this kind of theorem proof that he ended up naming after me and now teaches it to all his classes and that was 2 years ago…lol… so i’m getting a GREAT one from him.

My other rec is going to be great because my teacher loved me, i got like a B-in the class but the class was really hard, honors of course, and yeah.

Essays: Between decent and pretty good, like 2 pages single spaced of goodness.

I kind of have legacy too. When my grandpa was drafted during WW2 he did part of his electrical engineering degree there, didn’t graduate though…

I also did summer stuff like JHU CTY camp.

any thoughts?

sup quigley ;)

By numbers alone, your chance is 20% (see link at bottom). It’s likely to be higher because of your curriculum and ECs. I’m guessing 50%.

If you want a better shot at getting in…

1.) Work on getting your SAT scores up to 1400 by January 22nd. Check out this study plan: http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/~patel6/SAT.htm

2.) Assuming you haven’t turned your app in already, don’t turn it in until the deadline. Wisconsin claims that turning the app in early isn’t an advantage at all. (Check their newsletter to guidance counselors in PDF format.)

3.) On the January 22nd SAT, go on standby. It’s too late to register, but that’s not a problem. You’ll probably get a slot.

4.) Rush the scores to Wisconsin and turn in your app. If you’ve already sent your scores, write them a note saying that new January scores are coming.

If you’ve already turned in your app, you’ll probably get “postponed,” their equivalent to a deferral. This is fine. Take the SATs anyways. The new score will boost your application.

Good luck.
