I personally believe I stand a chance… there’s been significant improvement from my freshman year to my junior year. My GPA is a 92.749 (which WILL improve) with a class rank of 61/551 (which will ALSO improve). I haven’t taken the SAT’s yet but I’m taking them in January. My usual average is a 2200… so with a hypothetical SAT score of a 2200 and 750 on 3 SAT II’s… do I stand a chance?

According to this post you have no ECs. You have no chance. Also, get the rank up to top 25 studnets. Finally, if your classmates ranked higher than you apply to Penn chances are they will take your spot. Best of luck. Class of 08 admissions is supposed to be intense.

I do

I don’t have many though… I plan on running track this year, and cross country and track next year…

I’m working to get into atleast the top 10%…

My extracurriculars are:

Robotics Club (joining this year)
Mock Trial
Future Business Leaders of America (joining this year)
Key Club (joining this year)
Environmental Club
Trying to start (founder of) Tai’Chi club…

Also the fourth ranked person in my grade is applying to UPenn…

I’m in the top 11%… I want atleast top 40 by the end of this year before I apply for ED

Also I neglected to mention I’ve had AFJROTC from Freshman to Junior year

I’m not fourth in command after the Senior commanders (the ASIV aka 12th graders) and it looks like I’m going to be the Cadet Group Commander. Also I’ve won several awards through the AFJROTC unit.

Well… you have time is about all I can say.

Crap so I don’t stand that good of a chance of getting in?

I need to triple my efforts

I was being sarcastic about you not having ECs. Top school admissions is a crap shoot. It gets a little better if you have the stats and are either an athlete, URM, legacy, or in an underrepresented area of the country. If you want to go, apply. If you are applying to see if you can get in, dont bother and focus on schools you would rather go to.

Just cure cancer in the next 12 months, then it will all fall into place.

As I’ve told all my friends: UPenn is my DREAM school. I want to get to UPenn so badly…

classes and (potential) sat’s are pretty strong, ec’s could be a bit stronger, so do your best on the essays. show em you reallllly want to be there!

I’m trying to join more clubs, I think I might’ve just joined Math League too, but I don’t know the criterion for being allowed in. I’m also trying to join the Physics science league. Also I’m trying to get more volunteer stuff but I don’t know where else to volunteer outside of the hospital
