also how much of a difference do you think applying ed2 would make?
thanks!!!

Just doing the arithmetic in my head, I’d say it makes a HUGE difference; Wes admits at least 40% of the class from ED; they’ve accepted less than 200 so far, which leaves at least another 150 places to be chosen for a class of >700. No one expects EDII applications to exceed EDI apps (~421).

The REAL question is whether Wes is actually your first choice? Won’t Tufts allow you to apply EDII? :/

I agree that going EDII will give you a meaningful leg up. However, just for the record, I’d say there are more like 100 EDII spots, not 150. Another thread says Wes took 189 people EDI for Class of 2011. Data on the Wesleyan website suggests that for the last four years, Wes has annually taken around 290 ED total, combining both rounds (give or take) – 39% or 40% of a class of 715 - 720 students.

Presumably, different things may catch the eye of the admissions committe at Tufts and at Wesleyan so you certainly have a realistic chance of getting in RD. But as you were in fact deferred EDI at Tufts and would be just as happy to go to Wesleyan, then it may well be worth the added boost of going EDII (assuming financial considerations are manageable). Just a thought.

One more quick question. I know that there is no supplement but the website says you can submit supplementary materials. I want to major in something math/science related but I have absolutely nothing I can submit related to that. Will this greatly affect my application?

no, it won’t hurt you… those types of things can only help… the absence of which won’t have a negative effect. I am also a math/science person, and didn’t submit any supplemental materials (I’m a freshman now!)
