Chances

I'm a white/half Hispanic female at a public school in DC. When I was in 10th grade, I went to a semesterlong boarding school in NC that had a strong focus on the outdoors and community.
SATs: 740 verbal, 770 math, 770 writing
SAT IIs: I took Math IIC, chemistry, and US History in June and am expecting low to mid 700s for all.
GPA: 3.9something (one B in a semester-long class)
APs: Junior year- Chemistry, Calculus BC, US History, English Language
Senior year- Physics C, Literature, US Government, Spanish, World History, Economics, math at a college
ECs:
-work at an outdoors store about 20 hours/week
-It's Academic Club
-animal rights/ environmental club and community service (but mostly from 9th and 10th grades)
-a few other insignificant things

I'm trying to decide if I should apply ED. Thanks!

Oooops. I messed up. See post #3.

Your GPA and SAT composite are wonderful, and your multi-ethnic background would be a plus for many good LAC's. Your course load seems challenging--I assume some of the classes are AP. What are you looking for in a school? My daughter (an freshman this fall) looked at a dozen schools, including Vassar, Macalester, NYU, Skidmore, and Fordham, but found exactly what she wanted at Carleton. Good luck!

Thanks. All of the courses that I listed are AP. I took/ am taking those APs, Spanish 4, and a few art classes. I think I'm leaning toward applying ED now. I'm just going to visit some other colleges over the summer and then visit Carleton during a long weekend in October.

Enjoy your college visits--and I hope you like Carleton!
