Legacy at Wash U. We donate money every year and my mother represents them at college fairs and things.

Chances for HYP, Stanford, Wash U, Brown, Dartmouth, Pomona, Carleton, Caltech, MIT, Tufts, Rice, Amherst, Cornell
???

I forgot APs
5 in Chem, US Hist, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Physics C Mech, Physics C E&M

Next year to take AP Calc, AP Stats, AP Bio, AP Spanish, and both AP Eng. tests. I will also have choir and dance (for PE) and no lunch again.

Wow, you’re incredibly talented. I must say I am feeling a sting of jealousy. All that aside, I’d say you have a great chance. I think I read somewhere that students who win science olympiads, or do well in them at least, are almost shoo-ins to anywhere.

My counselor seemed less sure. That’s why I’m asking.

It sounds like you’ll get in most anywhere – especially with your SAT scores and your salutatorian rank. Good luck (but you may not need it at this point anymore!).

Science olympiads not Science Olympiad. If you win or do well in Chem (USNCO), Bio (USABO), Physics (USAPhO), Math (USAMO), or Computer Science (USACO) olympiad then you’re a shoo-in. Not if you medal in some misnomer like Science Olympiad.

definately in at Wash U with the legacy. you have an excellent chance at every other school, but they are unpredictable, so there is no guarantee. however, I wouldn’t be surprised if you got into more than 3/4 of the schools that are on that list.

Obviously none of the schools on that list count, but what kind of schools should I look at for a safety?

Research schools by your own standards/wants/needs/etc.

Great rank, great SAT scores, decent/good EC’s = in at almost everywhere. Maybe 2 or 3 rejection letters from HYPS at most.

GJ and GL in college =D

PS: I wouldn’t worry about safeties, you’re definitely in at some of those schools you posted if not all.

I guess I’m just afraid to only apply to selective schools. Is there anyone with similar stats that could tell me what school they used as a safety? Even if you didn’t apply there if you know where I should look I would appreciate it! ^__^

bump

Anyone?

Nobody???

Why do you even ask about chances? Your stats are almost perfect.

As far as safeties/low matches look at schools like Georgetown, Villanova, Emory, Mich, UNC Chapel Hill,NYU, USC, Miami, George Washington.

frog139, if you apply to all the schools you listed, you are bound to get into half of them. therefore, by implication you already have match/safety schools

don’t bother applying to 20 schools

definitely get more volunteering hours or you’re screwed for top ivies.

my guess
reject: HYP+ caltech(but you might get lucky with one of those, and probably get waitlisted)
very sketchy: stanford
good shot: MIT, since you’re a girl and because of your IIs
you’ll probably get into the rest

(not sure about amherst)

lol @ get more volunteering hours or you’re screwed.

Thats funny

I would say a safety would be UMich or University of Wisconsin. I expect you to get into the honors college at both. Basically, you have a great shot with all but HYPSMC being high matches (Dartmouth) to low matches (Carleton) Though, as firefox said you probably don’t need safeties and don’t listen to the above poster (BillBank), Ivies don’t care if you have a lot of volunteer hours as long as you are doing something and somehow giving back to the community.
