it doesn’t seem like you have any community service on your resume, but i don’t think it will hurt you in any way. i’d say you have a shot at getting into the honors program at BC

Although there is no community service listed, between your honor society work and peer support, there must be some community based effort that can be highlighted. The big hook for you will be your tenth grade year with Hurricane Katrina - what community service was done through your recovery efforts? If nothing else, somehow relating those events to your essays should produce some very compelling reading.

1390/1600 SATs and editor-in-chief makes you a superb candidate for admission. Now if we can only get you in a football uniform, you’d be a lock!

during katrina my neighborhood was flooded, and thats what most of my community service revolved around. i cleaned up piles of house debris, swept streets, etc. we organized clean-up commitees to beautify each section of the neighborhood. that’s how i found out i’m allergic to mold :/

VERY good chance of being admitted i say. grades are almost perfect and SAT scores are up there. community service is definetly more than accounted for by everything with katrina. and otherwise your school club involvement looks great. and your from and area that doesnt get as many applicants. maybe even honors program? apply early if you wanna know sooner, ccause your stats are definetly high enough

During orientation, you constantly hear the theme “Men and Women for Others”. Your experience, Elevenson, with Katrina and your brief written response show that you responded to the tragedy at a very personal level. Be sure to describe it in a heart-felt way in your essays - do not water down your emotions on this subject - really let the essay readers know what the on the ground, day-in/day-out experience was like. Honestly, you are an ideal candidate for Boston College. Sincerest good luck wishes!
