weighted gpa 4.02.
unweighted isn’t listed on transcript, probably 3.7-3.8.
all A’s and A-'s except a B+ in a half credit honors social studies course (that is now weighted, but wasn’t when i took it despite the fact that it’s the same course), a B+ in AP physics, and a B in AP english language.
it’s the A-s that kill me, in things like gym and photography.

SATs-
first time cr 610, math 640, writing 790
second time cr 640, math 720, writing 780

took SAT subject tests, don’t have scores back yet, i should have a good score in math 2, but i don’t know. i also took spanish and chemistry, but i’m worried about those two, especially spanish.

i have like no extracurriculars, though. i’m in spanish honors society for 11th/12th grade, but beyond that there’s not much.

It looks like you work hard and achieve well in school, which is certainly good, and you have decent test scores, but they certainly don’t stand out amongst other applicants. Having “like no extracurriculars” is pretty bad, though. What do you spend all your time doing?

i take photographs, i draw pictures, i hang out with friends, go to movies, go to amusement parks, go to the mall, DO things.

i dunno. i’m just not a club person. i realize that doesn’t look good on applications at all, but it doesn’t mean i do nothing in my spare time. my life just isn’t all revolved around school.

If you can boost your cr score, somehow twist things so that your photography and drawing are ECs - which they are - , write about how and why you have interests and passions that are outside of school, and apply Early Decision then you have a chance.

It’s not like you have zero ECs. You belong to the spanish honors society. How involved were you with that organization? Did you volunteer at all? Do you have a job? All of those things can help.

I didn’t have very many ECs, and I was accepted ED (although, I was pretty sure I was going to be flat out rejected). But the ones that I did do - Junior Classical League, French Club, and Key Club - I was very involved with and held leadership positions. Also, I had a job. And I wrote about my life OUTSIDE of school in my essays.

Even still, it will be a reach for you. Tufts is a reach for anyone. You seem like a really good student. But all of Tufts’ applicants are really good students.

More info is needed to evaluate your chances. What is your class rank? What area of the country do you live in? Have you won any awards? What will your recs be like?
