Not amazing. Honestly, the gay thing isn’t going to help you. Colleges are looking for under-represented minorities, gays are actually over-represented at most colleges. Your SAT scores are average, ECs are a bit above average, your GPA is low and your only AP class is unrelated to your major.

Basically, if your recommendations and essay are good, you’ll get in.

It’s possible. Spend a lot of time on what you can still do (as mentioned, your recommendations and your essay) and you have a chance. Your academics probably won’t get you right in, but the extra things could do it. I would not rely on your being gay improving your chances too much though.

I definitly third that. If you really want to put that in you essay, you could drop hints. However writing an entire essay about the fact you are gay and were the first to come out since 1902 may be offensive to a conservative reader. So when you write your essay keep your conservative reader in mind! But there are plenty of essay topics you can write about… art…how you have demonstrated your marketing skills, the time you had 25 hot dogs and it’s social relevance todoy be creative!

i didnt like cappex…they said i had an above average chance at getting accpeted to harvard…when i have 0% chance of going there…acording to cappex, there was no school that i had a below avg chance getting into
