Desired College Characteristics:

Location type: Small City, Rural
Size: Medium Small (2,500 - 5,000), Medium (5,000 - 10,000), Large (10,000 - 18,000)

Area: East Coast

If you want a college tht is Medium small. UMCP is definetly not for you!

UMCP accepts 4K full time students per yr. UMCP had 28K applicants, they only accept 25% from OOS, so it does make a difference if you are in or OOS.

Our DS’s econ class is @400, then broken down and taught by TA’s. His dorm alone probably has 500 + kids, and it is a typical dorm, he is in Centreville. Easton, Elkton, La Plato, Denton, etc. are all built the same way.

The true positive of UMCP is the campus is gorgeous, and you have a true feeling of being on a college campus, but it is not in area that you would want to go off the beaten track. You also have no need to since there is soo much offered on the campus. DS goes into DC about every other week with his friends. All of that being said, it is a perfect fit for him…he came from a small town and a small school, he was accepted into his dream major and being in scholars, they room the freshman from scholars in the cambridge dorms which creates a smaller university feel.

You look like your definetly in.
