chances?

Want to apply for pre-med or history (with pre med courses)

out of state

98 average weighted
Top 5% (of about 500)
2040 SAT
Good EC’s (NHS, Spanish NHS, travel hockey, grammar school role model, Varsity hockey, near 100 hrs community service, intramurals, a couple hs clubs)

98…would recalculate to maybe a 3.9ish at U of M I’m guessing? They look at the unweighted though…

SAT is a little bit under 50th I think? Michigan loves the ACT…taken that yet? If not, take it, or retake the SAT for a higher score this fall. Unless a 98 weighted translates to less than a 3.8…than you should be within range.

Make sure to stand out in your essays and EC’s and such. It seems like you are involved in a lot of stuff.

Also, you should come for a visit and tell them how much you love Ann Arbor =)

Goooood Luck!

50% for michigan is 1970 from college board…thanks for the advice though…

It’s got to be under 50th percentile for out of staters though.

Honestly, if you want to get into UM, then apply, it’s not going to hurt you.
Chance threads pretty much is useless.

Good luck!

What is your 98 equivical to on a 4 point scale? Is it really a 98% average, meaning a high A (4.0) or is it something else?
