<p>So I’ve posted a chance thread before, but its cruch time for priorty applicants and a few stats have changed. Sooooo…</p>

<p>You are OOS from a state that is non-competitive with a strong SAT, weak gpa, but you are a URM and a female with a strong curriculum, so in the end I would say in. If you said NJ, I would have said maybe, because for OOS that is probably the most competitive for all of UMD applicants.</p>

<p>How is 3.8W weak? Schools use may different scales for weighting GPAs. My son had a 3.8 and received a merit scholarship from UMD.</p>

<p>A 3.8 w can be considered weak if you come form a state like NJ, she is not. Our DS had a 4.1 w gpa with a 1390 out of 1600 SAT and received merit, but it was the lowest amount from all of his colleges.</p>
