<p>Biology is now a LEP program… it will harder to gain admittance into a Life Science b/c of this designation. You still have a very good chance, though.</p>
<p>Bio is going lep starting fall 2010. Now does that mean 2009 applicants, such as myself (currrent hs seniors) will have a harder time getting in? Or does this only apply to the hs class of 2011?</p>
<p>Hmm… now that I’ve looked at a little bit closer, it seems that the LEP designation may not affect us ‘2010’ seniors… though, they might still make students go through ‘gateway requirements’.</p>
<p>There are various lists of Gateway reqs for the various life science’s majors UMD has to offer. If you gain acceptance into this LEP program, you must pass the classes listed w/ those grades. If not accepted (but accepted to the Univ. itself), you must pass those courses and have a good GPA in order to “transfer” into the LEP program. Trust me, I know way too much from being on this board…</p>
