Sports-played JV soccer freshmen and sophomore years, ran cross country senior year.
Theatre-Have been involved in the past 6 plays in large roles, as well as stage crew and program designer
Art-Won a Scholastic Gold Key award for a painting and was hung in Milwaukee museum, won a competitive poetry prize at a creative writing festival
Clubs- Founder of Gender Studies club, has participated in engineering club, drama club, National Honor Society, national foreign language honor society.
Service- have volunteered at the Pine Ride Reservation in South Dakota twice. This past summer I also spent six weeks in Honduras living with a host family and focusing on community development.</p>

<p>You sound like a pretty good student with some great EC’s and accolades. It sounds like you’re really into studio art, so if you’re thinking about continuing that study in college I would suggest submitting an art supplement. </p>

<p>Because you have a strong GPA and ACT score, I’d suggest applying for the JES scholarship. It requires you to submit your app by Nov. 1st and it’s very competitive, but it’s definitely worth it, even if you only make it as far as “finalist,” because in February the school flies out roughly 150 finalists to spend a few days at the school interacting with faculty and students, eating at the dining hall etc. And since you’d be coming from Madison that would be a great way to visit on the cheap if you haven’t made it out here to visit yet.</p>
