Chancessss

I know about the essays and everything but i was just wondering whether ECs count for much since i don’t have any…

I have a 4.0 unweighted
ranked 1/380
valedictorian
8 aps
NO ECS
27 ACT

???

No EC’s?
Did your school require service hours?
Are you a member of a church?
A big hobby?
State Scholar?
Any awards?

You should retake the ACT. Have you only taken it one time? It seems low for you.

outside of uchicago, without any ECs or summer experiences, what did you you write your college essays on??

My trip to Libya over the summer and third world countries and stuff like that.

i also am an avid b-ball player i just don’t play for my school because i dislike the coach

btw i have community service hours and am an avid member of religious place

that’s my projected ACT score… i don’t know what i got on it.

Recreational basketball, community service, and world travel count as extracurriculars. If you are committed and passionate (leadership is a plus) they’ll look better than simply joining a club at school as a member for one hour a week.

See! EC’S! I know they really like travel stuff- especially if it’s part of a learning group. I suggest you play that up a bit.

hmm tough…

i spoke about my community service that I did in thailand in my long extended essay… so yeah, you have those to put down, make sure UChicago knows about what you have done!

you have no chance
none whatsoever

ignore the negative comments, you’ve got a good chance. Just realize that you DO have EC’s and I would also recommend retaking the ACT.

Or try the SATs!

SAT’s are for the people who think in words.
ACT is for math/science people who think in concepts and patterns.

really oops!!! then I took the wrong test…ahhhhhhh!!!

****! I took the wrong test too! OH well, i’m in college

ahahhahahahahh! good 1  where? U of C?

Sheed -
have you already applied or will you be applying this fall?

I will be applying this fall.
