Chancing eachother?

So, I’ve lurked on these forums a lot when I was a senior in high school and a freshman last year but I never understood one thing.

Why do people who asked to be chanced get responses from other prospective students who then ask to be chanced back? The thought process seems a little strange seeing as they’re not current students and they haven’t been admitted. They seem to base it mostly from admission statistics, if that’s the case you could chance yourself. It might be better than asking another person applying to chance you, seeing as they honestly have absolutely no way of judging your chances apart from telling you that you’re below/above or average score wise (which you can easily figure out on your own).

Just something that hit me as I revisited these forums. Take “chancings” with a grain of salt.

Also, I’m currently a sophomore at CAS so if you have any questions, visit my other thread.

Excellent point!! it seems that the only ones who should be responding to the chance requests might be someone who has already gotten into the school (or not gotten in) that can provide some sort of a comparison to the OP stats, etc. Otherwise what is the point?
