Change Courses? [to get 4 years of history and social studies]

Similar question. My son is taking 4 credits of history but 1/2 credit was a pass/fail class Junior year. So he’s taken World History 1, World History 2, US History, 1/2 credit P/F Civics and then Senior Year he’s scheduled for 1/2 Credit US Civil Rights. 4 total but only 3.5 for a grade. The only full credit offering for senior year is A/P but to switch would mean dropping AP Psychology. Would this be a detriment or are schools only looking for 4 credits? Is this the type of question I could pose to admissions? Thanks in advance!

What college is looking for four units of history? Are you looking at the Common Data Sets (Section C5) for schools your student is interested in? I just checked a couple of highly selective colleges and they aren’t recommending or requiring that many.

AP Psychology counts as a social science. I’m unaware of any college that requires 4 years of history - as opposed to history/social science.

On another note, I split your question onto a new thread. It’s better to start a new thread with a question than to highjack someone else’s thread
