Change in Dining Plan?

First-Year Dining Plans 2010-2011

Plan 1— 19 meals per week and 75 Dining Dollars per term, plus 15 floating meals and 6 Faculty meals
Plan 2— 15 meals per week and 125 Dining Dollars per term, plus 10 floating meals and 6 Faculty meals

“There are 3 sets of dining plans available to Columbia University students. The first is available to first-year students only, specifically designed to encourage community building among new students. All first-years are required to enroll in one of two dining plans, each of which are comprised of a varying number of meals, served in John Jay Dining Hall, Ferris Booth Commons, or JJ’s Place and Dining Dollars, which can be used at the 12 dining locations on campus.” [Dining : Dining Plan Comparison](<a href=“Columbia Dining”>Columbia Dining)

Did Columbia’s dining plan recently change? I don’t remember meals available in John Jay AND in Ferris or JJ’s.

What plan would you recommend an incoming freshman to sign up for now after the changes (if there was a change)?

¡super bump!

The prevailing advice in the past has always been to always go with the least amount of meals and most points.

This new thing about using meals at Ferris and JJ’s has me a little skeptical. Until they come out and say exactly what options will be available at those places under the meal plan, I’d stick with the old advice.

wow, this is way different that freshmen meal plans this year…
