Change in residency=change in merit aid?

My son will be a freshman next fall. We are currently out of state residents. He was awarded a Green and Gold scholarship. My husband just accepted a promotion and we will be moving to Tampa in June. I know that we will still pay out of state for the first year, but after that, we should qualify for in state tuition. Anyone have any idea if/how this will affect his scholarship, as it is a merit scholarship for out of state students?

Best to phone the financial aid office for accurate answer. I'd doubt though that USF would continue to give an award designed for non-residents after you become a Florida resident. You can't have it both ways; what you might lose you'll make up for with the lesser resident tuition rate and the promotion! Too if you lose eligibility for the Green and Gold, your son might be eligible for other scholarships.
