My current major is Biology, but completing all the required transfer prerequisites would take about two more years at community college. Since I have already been in community college for two years, I am considering changing my major to Social Science so I can transfer to UC Davis in Spring 2027.
Would I be able to change my major to Biology after transferring to UC Davis and complete a Biology degree there?
If you did not complete sufficient prerequisites before transfer, then, even if you are allowed to change major, you would have to “catch up” on prerequisites, delaying graduation by the amount of time needed to “catch up” (four semester or six quarters that you mention).
Better to spend four extra semesters at the less expensive community college than six extra quarters at the more expensive UC.
UCD’s rules on changing major are listed at https://biology.ucdavis.edu/undergraduate/advising/basc/academic-planning/change-major . Note that there may be restrictions on changing major after 135 quarter units (= 90 semester units or senior standing), and you need to be able to graduate before 200 quarter units (= 133.3 semester units). The latter rule means that needing six extra quarters to graduate is unlikely to be approved.
