Change Me

Schools that I am applying to (Business most likely):
Harvard
UPenn
MIT
Stanford
Duke
Emory (nominee for Scholar)
GT (already accepted, nominee for Presidential Scholarship Program)

Age: 16
Race: Asian (Chinese to be more specific. I do speak Mandarin. I’m proficient in Spanish)
Gender: Male
Location: Georgia

SAT: 2230 (800 Math, 700 CR, 730 Writing)
SAT II: 800 Math I, 800 Math II, 660 Physics (bad), 740 World History
ACT: none
GPA: 4.0 unweighted, 4.86 weighted
Rank: 1 or 2 (out of about 300)
AP: World History 5, US History 4, Statistics 4, Psychology 4, Physics 3, English Lang 4. (really disappointed about US History, Psych, and Physics scores >.>). I will probably take Chem, English Lit, Calc BC
IB: Psychology SL 5. I am an IB Diploma candidate (Math, English, History of Americas, Chem all HL)
I take the hardest classes offered. I took 6 weighted sophomore year, 7 weighted junior and senior year. I doubled up in math all 3 years (to my counselor’s horror :P)

Essays: None of them were bad. I spent a while working on them (started in the summer)
Teacher Recs: Fine. Picked Chem teacher (had me for 2 years) and English teacher (3 years)
Counselor Recs: no clue
Hook: I’m younger than some, involved in extracurriculurs, etc.

I could only volunteer starting last year b/c of age)

Awards: Numerous in FBLA - Placed twice at Nationals, 3 times at State, won region every year. Math Team - numerous individual awards (never 1st… tied once), numerous team awards, Mock Trial (placed 3 times at region… didn’t win freshman year b/c of a stupid math error), Academic Bowl (some team awards)

Other: National Merit Semifinalist, Star Student (highest SAT), AP Scholar w/ Distinction

Thanks!

And I noticed I totally failed at the topic title… I meant Chance Me >.>

What do you mean by “change me”? This is a college forum, not a plastic surgurey forum.

Your stats look fine, btw.

Thanks for the reply. I completely noticed I put change me and reposted (see my second post in this topic :P)

Bump! Please respond :D

overachiever…cough cough

ull be fine good luck, duke is good, as for the rest im sure ull be fine

Thanks. Just trying to get a good feel for potential places I can get in. I also forgot to mention my EA was deferred from MIT. (And I just noticed I had a typo… 100 hours not years on my volunteer hours)

Bump! Please respond. Will be greatly appreciated :)

Wow, did you skip a grade or something?

I would say the only one you have a 60%+ chance of getting into is Emory and Duke?

I started school early/skipped those grades. Placement tests rock :D

Thanks for the reply btw :)

Bump once again! :D

Bump! Thanks to all who reply.

well you have amazing stats and i think you could get into any of those.
Harvard and MIT are unpredictable because of a 10% acceptance rate, but you have a better chance than most and you will do well wherever you go.you have everything theyre looking for. Id say that MIT you have a better chance than harvard, but thats just because of the math score

chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635725-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html
