Changes in Financial Aid

Hi so I got an email from my college saying that there had been some changes to my financial aid so I went online to check. I was really surprised to see that the amount I was receiving had doubled and instead of having a list of the different types of financial aid I was receiving, like Perkins Loan, Undergrad Grant, Work Study, etc. there was only a “Outside Tuition Benefit Est.” which was under the category of LWR Grant.

Now I’m honestly really happy that my financial aid has increased and by the looks of it, I won’t have to pay back any loans since it’s a grant? But I’m really confused as to what may have caused such a change, so I was wondering if anyone could explain it to me, as well as what a LWR Grant exactly is. Thanks!

Loans must be repaid.

What school do you attend?

Lutheran World Relief? I had heard that they were giving money for some college students but I don’t know if this is your grant. Call the fin aid office and find out and also see if this is a recurring grant and how you were eligible for it.

Are you at Cornell? C gives LWR grants.
