Last time I was in school was the fall semester of 2015 due to pregnancy. When I registered my financial had not kicked in, in time to purchase books for my classes, so I was told I had to take a manly loan (idk if I’m spelling it correctly). Basically it’s a loan that will be deducted from
My financial aid until I was awarded. I purchased my books and was able to start classes. I returned this fall and my financial aid was processed on time but now it reads the was a correction made by the college. I think it was because they told me my financial For this year can cover the debt for the manly loan that was never deducted from 2015. I got an email saying that students are being getting financial aid awards but I still have a balance due. My question is when the college makes a correction how long does it usually take for it to be revised and completed? Will the balance on my student account be covered by the financial aid? Also, I never got a financial aid award how does that work?
You need to go and talk to your financial aid office NOW. Do you have anything in writing saying your loan would be deducted from your aid…and was it? If it was…show it to the college. If it was NOT deducted, then you DO owe the college money from a previous year. Your new aid won’t be processed until that bill is paid.
I don’t be.ieve you can use funds from 2016-2017 aid to pay for a 2015 bill. @kelsmom ??
