I’m applying to UMass Amherst early action tonight. I want to change my essay for schools that I apply to regular decision through the commonapp. Can I do this? Can you send me a link that affirms this, so my parents buy it?

Thanks!

Log into common app, on the left bar there’s your regular tabs for “school forms,” “supplements,” etc. Click on “Instructions.” Scroll down. There’s a complete guide on this under something like “application versions.”

on the website it says that all information from your old version will be transferred to your new version, except the essay. does this mean you can’t change your original essay?

I only have an hour and a half until my deadline. HELP MEEEE

You can change your essay! (That just means they won’t transfer anything you upload, so you’ll have a blank essay.)

EDIT: It’ll work out fine, promise! I did it last week after sending my EA apps and it was great. The only problem was a system glitch with my school forms, but common app solved that and nothing was messed up.
