Hello, one of my students is interested in applying to Yale engineering program, but she fears if she can change her major to some liberal arts study later?

How flexible is Yale’s approach to accommodating student’s desire to change major?

I know that at Columbia Fu Foundation school, changing a major to one of the studies at Columbia College is almost impossible.

This isn’t a problem at Yale. All prospective undergrads apply and are admitted to Yale College, not to a specific major or program. Most students don’t have to declare a major until the beginning of junior year. Students majoring in the sciences and in mathematics are the exception: they have to indicate their major during sophomore year.
