Changing Major, Transfer, and Aid

Hi,

I’m planning on transferring from my current two-year school to a four-year school at the end of this semester, with an incomplete associates degree. When I transfer I also plan on changing my major. I understand changing your major can have effects on your financial aid, or even result in suspension of it. My question is, does that apply if I transfer to another school or not?

You can change your major when you transfer without that affecting your aid. The issue you might run into in the long run is a possibility of running out of loan eligibility before you get your degree. If you take a long time to get through your undergrad program, you could max out your loans. If that’s not an issue for you, though, you shouldn’t have any worries.
